GoDaddy runs two separate mail systems, so the right server and login depend on the plan. Here is what to check.

Professional Email

imap.secureserver.net, port 993

SSL switched on, the complete address as login name and the mailbox password. A reset in the GoDaddy Email and Office Dashboard applies right away.

Microsoft 365 plan

These mailboxes live on outlook.office365.com. Microsoft blocks typed passwords, so the backup tool hands off to the Microsoft window and any MFA code is entered there.

Older accounts

Workspace Email is retired

GoDaddy shut down Workspace Email and moved those users to Professional Email or Microsoft 365. Settings saved years ago in Outlook or a phone will fail until they are updated.

Why back up GoDaddy email if GoDaddy hosts it?

Because access follows the bill. A lapsed domain or a declined card can lock the mailbox, and deleting a user removes the mail with no recycle bin. A local copy keeps client records and invoices safe whatever happens to the account.

Can I export a complete mailbox from GoDaddy webmail?

No. GoDaddy webmail has no bulk export, and messages can only be saved singly. Complete folders call for GoDaddy Email Backup Tool or a desktop mail client.

Which GoDaddy email plan do I have?

Go to email.godaddy.com and log in. GoDaddy webmail opening means Professional Email. A redirect to a Microsoft login means Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy.

What are the IMAP settings for GoDaddy Professional Email?

Use imap.secureserver.net on port 993 with SSL. Log in with the complete address and its mailbox password. Once GoDaddy is selected, the tool fills in server and port.

My Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy login fails. Why?

Microsoft does not accept passwords typed into outside software. The tool opens Microsoft's own login window instead. Enter the password there and approve the MFA prompt if one appears.

Why do my old GoDaddy Workspace Email settings fail?

Workspace Email no longer exists. GoDaddy moved those mailboxes onto its two current plans, so find out which one yours became and use that plan's settings.

Will the backup keep my GoDaddy folder layout?

Yes. Client folders and their subfolders come out with the same names and nesting. A flat single folder is available if you prefer.

Can I back up every mailbox on my company domain?

Yes. Sign in once per mailbox and list them all in a CSV. info@, sales@, support@ and staff boxes then run as one batch.

Are invoices and other attachments included?

Yes. Invoices, spreadsheets and images stay with the email they came in. Extract can also pull out files, contact addresses or phone numbers separately.

Should I back up a mailbox before an employee leaves?

Yes. Export the mailbox to PST or PDF and open it to confirm. Only then delete the user in GoDaddy, because a deleted GoDaddy user cannot be brought back.

Can a later run add only new GoDaddy mail?

Not automatically. For a monthly routine, start the date range at the previous run and skip duplicates, so the copy grows with new mail only.

Is moving GoDaddy mail into Google Workspace or Outlook possible?

Yes. Set a live account as the destination and the mail lands in Google Workspace, Gmail, Microsoft 365 or another IMAP host. A PST import into Outlook is the other option.

Does Corbett store or relay my company email?

No. Your office PC connects to GoDaddy itself and writes the files to your own disk. Nothing passes through Corbett.
