What it migrates
Emails, attachments, labels, dates and read status
Where it migrates
Gmail, Workspace, Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, Yahoo and IMAP

4Gmail drops POP fetch for other accounts in January 2027
Gmail Help page on changes to Gmailify and POP says Gmail removes POP fetch, Gmailify and Send as for third-party accounts then, and that mail already fetched stays in Gmail. Gmail migration tool moves old mail across in one pass.

Core features
Five screens of Corbett Gmail migration software, in migration order.
Both ends at once
Choose Gmail as your source and Gmail migration tool loads imap.gmail.com with port 993 when you select Find. Sign in with an app password or OAuth 2.0 and your Gmail labels appear straight away.
Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 targets open their own login window, so passwords stay out of Gmail migration tool. Other IMAP hosts take a server name, port and password. Load many users from a CSV list to migrate an entire team in one batch.
Label selection
Labels load as a branching list with a message count beside every label, nested labels included, so Gmail migration size is clear before anything starts. Untick Spam and Trash so junk never reaches your new account.
Gmail also keeps every message in All Mail, and archived mail with no label lives only there. Tick labels for a label-by-label copy or tick All Mail for a complete copy, then rely on duplicate skip to catch repeats.
Message preview
Select any Gmail message and a reading pane opens beside four analysis views. Admins use them to confirm sender, route and size before a move starts.
Content shows your mail with every address line. Message header lists routing records. Properties reports size, labels and attachment names, while hex and raw message views show stored values and message code.
Selective migration
Quick Search finds a keyword from your search bar and highlights every match in yellow. Advance Search covers two fields: All Search for every field including calendar and date, and Emails Search for name, subject, To, Cc and content.
Filters apply before migration starts, so a ten year Gmail can move with only its last three years. Set From and To dates, filter by sender or recipient and limit attachments by size or extension. Old newsletters stay behind.
Destination options
Send Gmail mail straight into another mailbox, or save files along the way. Options include create empty folders, include email headers and append into default folders, so your destination keeps its shape.
After migration, open your new account and compare label counts. Need a safe copy first? Open Gmail Backup Tool before you migrate Gmail.
Supported destinations
Gmail can sit on any source side, so Gmail to Microsoft 365 migration works like Gmail to Yahoo.
| Destination | Best for | Sign-in |
|---|---|---|
| Another Gmail | A new address, a clone of an old account or a merge of two mailboxes | App password or OAuth 2.0 |
| Google Workspace | A personal Gmail moving to a company domain | Google login window |
| Microsoft 365 | Teams leaving Gmail for Outlook, with primary, archive or shared targets | Microsoft login window |
| Outlook.com and Yahoo | Home users moving to a different free mailbox | Account login or app password |
| Any IMAP host | Hosting mail, Zimbra and ISP mailboxes with IMAP on | Email, password and server name |
| Many Gmail users | One row per user in a CSV list, source and destination in pairs | Bulk sign-in |
Moving between IMAP accounts only? Open IMAP Migration Tool for that job.

Kudos to the team behind this software. I want to transfer a particular email address from my account. A quick search led me to this application, and it didn't disappoint. Indeed five stars from me.
Before migration
Three short checks keep your Gmail migration clean before Gmail migration tool starts.
Create a Gmail app password
Enable 2-Step Verification, then create an app password, as Google app passwords help explains. Gmail IMAP stays on, so no setting needs a switch.
Gather destination logins
Have email address, password, server name and port of your destination ready. Workspace and Microsoft 365 targets open their own login window.
Create destination mailboxes
Add every user to your new provider first. Gmail migration software writes into accounts that already exist.
Best practice
A Gmail migration only helps if your mail arrives complete. Four habits keep your data safe through it.
Back up first
Save a copy of your Gmail before you start. Keep 3 copies on 2 types of media with 1 copy off site.
Test one label first
Move one small label and open a few messages at your destination. Catch a wrong folder before a large job.
Plan around Google caps
Google Gmail bandwidth limits page sets daily IMAP limits and can suspend an account for up to 24 hours. Split a large Gmail into date ranges and move one range per day.
Keep source until checked
Leave your old Gmail live until label counts match. Close it yourself only after you confirm your new account.
Common questions
Gmail migration tool steps, labels, Google limits and licence answers.
A Gmail migration tool signs in to a Gmail account and copies labels, emails and attachments into another mailbox. Corbett Gmail Migration Tool does that on Windows for Gmail, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, Yahoo and any IMAP host.
Open Gmail Migration Tool, go to Email Accounts and select Add Account. Choose Gmail, enter your address with an app password or sign in with OAuth 2.0, then select Add. Tick labels, select Export, choose your destination, add its login and select Save. Free demo lets you test every step first.
Yes. Gmail to Gmail migration needs your old Gmail as source and your new Gmail as destination. Labels arrive as labels, and dates, attachments and read status stay as they were.
Yes. Gmail migration tool takes Google Workspace as destination and sign in through the Google login window. Google also offers its own route, and the Google Workspace email migration page needs a super admin on both sides.
Yes. Gmail migration software takes Microsoft 365 as destination and sign in through the Microsoft login window. Mail can land in a primary, archive or shared mailbox. Microsoft also documents a built-in route in its Microsoft Google Workspace migration guide.
Yes. Your label tree loads with a message count beside every label, and nested labels arrive as nested folders at your destination. Gmail applies several labels to one message, so a message with two labels appears in both folders.
Archived mail with no label lives only in All Mail. Tick All Mail as well as your labels so those messages move, and duplicate skip catches repeats. Spam and Trash stay behind unless you tick them.
Labels give a label-by-label copy that mirrors your folders. All Mail gives a complete copy of every message. Tick both when you want everything, because duplicate skip stops any message landing twice.
Yes when two-step verification is on and you use a password sign-in. Create one in your Google account and type it in place of your normal password. Google app passwords help explains how. OAuth 2.0 sign-in needs no app password.
Yes. The Google Gmail bandwidth limits page sets IMAP caps of 2,500 MB download and 500 MB upload per day, and Google can suspend an account for 1 to 24 hours when you pass them. Split a large Gmail into date ranges and move one range per day.
Google throttles IMAP traffic once a daily cap is reached. Wait for suspension to lift and start again with a smaller date range. Gmail Help page on fixing import problems lists common import errors.
Yes. Set From and To dates, filter by sender, recipient or subject, and limit attachments by size or extension. A ten year Gmail can move with only its last three years.
Yes. Quick Search finds a keyword from your search bar and highlights matches in yellow. Advance Search offers All Search for every field including calendar and date, and Emails Search for name, subject, To, Cc and content.
Yes. A reading pane opens beside content, message header, properties, hex and raw message views for every Gmail message.
Yes. Put one row per user in a CSV file, with your Gmail address in one column and your destination in another. Gmail migration tool matches every pair and writes a CSV report when finished.
No. Duplicate detection compares messages before migrating and skips ones already present. On a partly filled destination, narrow your label selection or date range first to save time.
No. Your source is read only. Mail is copied out, never moved out, so your old Gmail keeps everything until you close it yourself.
Gmail Help page on changes to Gmailify and POP says Gmail removes POP fetch, Gmailify and Send as for third-party accounts in January 2027, and that mail already fetched stays in Gmail. A one-time migration moves old mail from those accounts in a way POP never did.
No. Gmail migration tool moves mail. Filters, forwarding rules, signatures, calendar events and Google Chat history stay behind, so note them down before you close your old account.
Google import cannot take messages of 150 MB or larger, and Google Gmail bandwidth limits page adds daily caps. Check very large attachments in free demo before a big job.
Yes. Export to PST, MBOX, EML, MSG, PDF, HTML, CSV or TXT. Outlook sets a 50 GB default limit per Unicode PST, so splitting by size keeps files easy to open.
Yes. Save a copy first with Gmail Backup Tool, then start your migration. Keep 3 copies on 2 types of media with 1 copy off site.
No. Your PC connects to Google and to your destination and moves mail between them. Corbett never holds or forwards a message.
Free demo connects both accounts, loads your full label tree and gives you every filter and preview. Migration stops at 10 messages per folder, enough to test your route before you buy.
