Automatic setup
Choose the mail service, type the address and password. Email Backup Wizard resolves the IMAP host and port on its own. Where a host uses non-standard settings, the same screen accepts them by hand. Several accounts can be added and backed up in one run.
Folder selection
The whole mailbox loads into a tree with a checkbox on every folder. Inbox, Sent, Drafts, labels and nested subfolders each tick on or off. A message count is shown against each folder, so the size of the run is clear before it starts.
Message preview
Each message opens in a preview pane. Beyond the reading view there are four analysis views, which is what separates Email Backup Wizard from a plain export utility for IT admins and forensic work.
Selective export
Advanced Search narrows a mailbox before anything is written to disk. A single sender across one quarter comes out on its own. So does everything except spam.
Output options
The destination is picked after the preview. Either write a file to disk in one of eight formats, into a folder you choose. The other route is to migrate the mail straight into a second account. Folder hierarchy, attachments, inline images, dates and read status carry across either way. The files stay yours after the licence, since a PST or MBOX opens without any licence check.

No. The licensed edition puts no cap on account size or message count. A large mailbox takes longer and needs disk space for the output, but nothing stops part way.

I needed to save the attachments from my emails. There were about 1500 emails. I did look for manual methods for a while, but due to the confidential nature of my work, I couldn't go ahead with those free manual methods. Then I found this tool. It is super easy to use and I would suggest it to anyone looking to back up their emails.
Being an IT administrator, I was tasked to back up all emails due to a change of department. The size of the data being in TBs, manual methods were out of the question. After looking on the internet for a while I found this software. As far as email management is concerned, this tool is pretty good.
I had a bunch of old email files stored in EML format. Because of some office work I needed to back these up into my webmail account. I bought it at the suggestion of a colleague. I will give it four stars; the cut back of one star is not due to functionality. I felt it to be a bit pricey, but hey, maybe that's just me. The tool works pretty well.
