What belongs in a sitemap
List only live, canonical pages that return status 200. Redirects, broken URLs and noindex pages waste the crawler's time. One file holds up to 50,000 URLs or 50 MB uncompressed, so larger sites need several sitemaps.

Submit the sitemap in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, then check which URLs were indexed or rejected.
