Manual methods fell short
This is a very useful tool. I wanted to backup all of my Comcast emails. I tried many manual methods but it didn’t help. Then, I came across this tool. It not only helped to export but also ensured complete data integrity.

Comcast facts
A Comcast address belongs to the internet plan. Move house, switch provider or close the account and the mailbox can go with it. Webmail also offers no export button. Comcast Backup Tool saves Xfinity folders to a local drive before that day arrives.

Comcast Mail Stops When Service Does
Many people sign up for Comcast mail through their cable or internet plan. When that plan ends, the address and its old messages may disappear too. A full local copy keeps bank letters, receipts and family photos readable.
Core features
Open the wizard, add the Xfinity login, preview the folders and set the output.
Enter the Comcast address and password, then press Find. The tool looks up the IMAP server and port without help. Xfinity may ask for a separate security code for outside mail programs.
Folder selection
Every folder and subfolder loads with a message count. Mark the ones worth keeping and clear Spam and Trash to save space.
Message preview
Open any message and inspect it in four views before a single file is written. A wrong folder or an empty thread shows up early.
Selective backup
A quick search finds mail by name, subject, From, To, CC or date. Save one sender, one year or one thread and leave the rest in the Comcast mailbox.
Output options
Files can go to a hard drive or flash drive, or the mail can load into a new account. Those leaving Comcast often keep an archive file and open a Gmail or Outlook mailbox for daily use.
Before connecting
Three details keep the first login from failing.
Must do
Allow outside mail programs
Comcast can block mail apps by default. Open the Xfinity account settings and look for the third party access option or a security code, then use that code in the tool.
Common snag
Use the full address as username
Logins are normally the entire address ending in comcast.net or xfinity.com. Dropping the domain part often triggers a password error.
Server details
IMAP on port 993 with SSL
Comcast mail normally uses an IMAP server with SSL on port 993. If Find returns nothing, enter the server by hand in advanced settings.
Other mail hosts that end with service plans are covered in Configure Comcast emails in Thunderbird and Backup Verizon emails.

Xfinity webmail can print or forward one message at a time. That suits a few letters. Years of mail call for batch tools, and the table shows the gap.
| Task | Webmail by hand | Comcast Backup Tool |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | $99 one time |
| Keep a single email | Print to PDF | Works too, with extra options |
| Save thousands of emails | Many hours of clicking | One batch run |
| Find mail by date or sender | Manual scrolling | Name, subject, From, To, CC and date search |
| Save contacts and calendars | Not offered | Exported to standard formats |
| Format choice | Print or forward only | Email client and document formats |
| Folder layout | Lost in a flat pile | Hierarchy rebuilt in the output |
| Size limits | Set by the browser session | No cap on file size |
Green rows show where webmail is sufficient.
A handful of messages can leave Xfinity by printing at no cost. Moving a complete Comcast mailbox to Gmail is laid out in Transfer Comcast emails to Gmail .
